SMSTS Refresher

 

Overview

This is a two-day refresher of our full Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) course and renews your SMSTS Certificate for a further 5 years upon successful completion.

This refresher brings your health and safety knowledge up to date and provides a thorough overview of the legislative changes and their impact in the workplace. It builds on the material in the original course as well as introducing new subjects

Content

The aim of the SMSTS refresher course is to increase and refresh candidates knowledge and awareness of:

  • Up to date current law and legislation
  • How to manage health & safety on site
  • Prepare risk assessment/method statements and other requirements of Health & Safety
  • Management of occupational health
  • Working at Heights
  • Confined spaces
  • Demolition
  • Excavations
  • Behavioural safety including human error, stress and prevention
  • Recent changes in accepted working practices

Duration

2 day course.

Assessment

The course is classroom-based and made up of a combination of case studies, group and individual exercises, presentations and a final examination. Certification is issued by the CITB – Construction Industry Training Board (Site Safety Plus)

Taught by experts with extensive experience in this field, our courses are designed to be enjoyable whilst ensuring that candidates acquire the relevant knowledge and skills to pass the course

Candidates are required to attend all 5 days of the training to be awarded the qualification.

You must complete this refresher before your certificate expires or you will need to re-take the full course. Evidence of certification is required.
