Overview

The Asbestos awareness training course is designed to provide candidates with the knowledge necessary to allow them to avoid work which may disturb asbestos during their normal work and ensure employees are equipped with the sufficient level of information, instruction and training to enable them to work safely and competently without risk to themselves or others.

Workers should be able to recognise asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) and know what to do if they come across them in order to protect themselves and others.

Content

Upon successful completion of the course candidates will have gained practical skills and knowledge on:

• Properties of asbestos including its impact on health
• Asbestos awareness
• Non-licensable work, including Notifiable Non-licensed Work (NNLW)
• Types, uses and the potential occurrence of asbestos and asbestos materials in buildings and plant
• What to do in an emergency such as uncontrolled release of asbestos dust into the workplace
• Avoiding the risk of exposure to asbestos
• Licensable work with asbestos
• Documentation and record keeping
• Avoiding exposure to asbestos

Delivered by health and safety experts this invaluable training course will enable employers to fulfil legal safety requirements to promote safe working practices in the workplace. This bespoke course can be adapted to meet specific business or individual needs to make the learning experience relevant and fit for purpose. Candidates will receive in-house certification certified by KH Plant Training upon successful completion of the course.
