Rear Tipping Dump-Truck

Overview

The aim of the Rear Tipping Dumptruck is to provide candidates with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills to work effectively and safely when using the rear tipping dumper to the NPORS (National Plant Operators Registration Scheme) standard.

 Content

Course content enables candidates to gain skills and knowledge of:

  • Their roles and responsibilities as a plant operator
  • A basic understanding of the industry and current up to date legislation
  • Ensure the suitability of the tipping and loading area.
  • Travel over rough, undulating ground, steep inclines and level surfaces – loaded and unloaded
  • Manoeuvre in confined spaces whilst carrying loads
  • Knowledge and ability to conform to the manufacturers requirements as per the operators handbook
  • Transfer loads to various locations
  • Explain action required for hazards, underground and overhead services.
  • Position to receive loads.
  • Comply with loading procedures
  • Discharge loads into trenches and over edges.
  • Maintain safe and tidy working areas.
  • Carry out shut down and securing procedures.
  • Explain the loading and unloading procedures for machine transporting.
  • Position to receive loads
  • Undertake all pre-use checks

Assessment

CPCS Assessment is carried out in the form of both practical and theory tests.

Course duration

Each category of plant has a specified course duration requirement set by CPCS for novice training. However, should an individual have some level of experience, the duration may be altered at the instruction’s discretion on each case by case basis. Please speak to one of our trusted employees to determine a delivery package that’s specific to you and/or your business.  

Summary

Taught by experts with extensive experience in this field, our courses are designed to be enjoyable whilst ensuring that candidates acquire the knowledge and skills required in order to pass the CPCS assessment. Upon successful completion of the course candidates will gain a CPCS Red Trained Operators Card.

Candidates must bring and wear their PPE on site for plant testing. They must also bring signature and photographic identification as required for all testing.

Candidates must have passed a CITB Health, safety and environment (HS&E) test within the previous two years prior to attending this course.  If there are sufficient candidates we can offer this in combination with the dump-truck training course.Please contact us if you would like to discuss this further and one of our team can assist you.
