This course is suitable for anyone using a ride on road roller. The course is delivered through a combination of classroom-based theory and practical assessments and is suitable for novice operators as well as those with prior experience who are simply looking for a refresher course.
Candidates must have passed a CITB Health, safety and environment (HS&E) test within the previous two years prior to attending this course, although if there are sufficient candidates we can offer this in combination with the ride on roller training course.
Content
At the end of this course candidates will be competent in:
Start-up and maintenance checks
How to prepare the roller for travel
Maintaining safety standards whilst working
How to prepare the roller for compaction duties
How to recognise compacted and non-compacted areas
How to recognise conditions which can affect the stability of the roller
The safety procedures required when working with unsupported edges
Loading and unloading procedures on/off a transporter.
Shut down procedures

Our professionally run courses are taught by experts with considerable experience in the field. Upon successful completion of the course, and the CPCS Technical Test candidates will receive a CPCS Red Trained Operator Card.
