PUWER Awareness Training

Overview

PUWER is the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 which consists of dealing with work equipment and machinery used daily in the workplace. The aim of this training is to increase knowledge and awareness of employers and employees to ensure safety whenever they come in to contact with equipment and machinery used in the workplace.

Content

Upon successful completion of the course candidates will have gained practical skills and knowledge about:

  • Roles and responsibilities in ensuring the safe use of equipment in the workplace
  • Learn how to adequately maintain equipment including inspections and ensuring equipment is fit for purpose.
  • Understanding which equipment applies under PUWER
  • The legal obligations under PUWER
  • Risk assessments including identifying any hazards, assessing and reducing the risk of accidents occurring in the workplace.
  • Protection and controls
  • Record keeping
